Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid season, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Currently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after that period of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at 21 various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His defensive play style and regular reactions on court had led some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a close final set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner secured victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
